Great food and great service. Very fresh and not too heavy dishes. Definitely try the scallops and grouper, and don't forget the bread pudding at the end. Great restaurant for couples. We will be back

I can not say enough about this amazing restaurant! My husband and I went for a date night and it was the perfect ambience. They have a great wine list that also listed proper food pairings at reasonable prices. We started with the goat cheese bruschetta and it was delicious. The tomatoes were so fresh and it made the dish. I had the scallops, and they were the best id ever had. My husband had the snapper over rock shrimp risotto, and both were to die for! We ended with the apple bread pudding per our servers suggestion and it was heavenly. I honestly think it's my favorite restaurant on the island. Great service, food and ambience! We will definitely be back before our trip ends! Only tip is to make a reservation. We went on a Wednesday and it was packed.

A tiny restaurant featuring the freshest seafood in delightful inventive presentations. Service is attentive and the food is very tasty. Our group tried 4 different fish dishes and all were very good. Reservations are a must and parking is a little tricky as they have a tiny lot. You can park across the street in a lot reserved for the Century 21 building in which this restaurant is located. Tables are quite close together and it can get a bit noisy inside but altogether a spot worth a stop while you are in Marco.

Visiting Marco Island with my husband for a few days on a work-related event, with two free evenings all to ourselves. Went to trusty Yelp to decide where to have dinner, and I'm so glad I did. Consistent positive reviews led us to Fin Bistro. From the minute we walked in to this small clean restaurant located at the end of a strip of commercial and retail businesses we were impressed. It was a Saturday night and the place was abuzz with activity. We were greeted at the door by one of the owners (husband wife team - he's the chef and she runs the floor.) we were early for our reservation, so we opted to eat right at the bar. Dean provided great service ( and wine knowledge) throughout the evening. We quickly noticed the wonderful teamwork between all the employees, both front and back of the house (and there's not much back of the house to this little giant). No detail too small. Each and every glass/plate was wiped and polished before use. No harsh words between co-workers, just refreshing comradery. We started with the Cakebread Chardonnay which was priced lower than I've seen anywhere. Now for the good stuff- the food, in a word PERFECTION. The chowder was rich' flavorful and had a bit of lump crab meat in center with a paprika butter that took it to another level. I had the roasted beet palm hearts salad and it was fantastic. No skimping on the beets here. Dressing was fantastic. My husband enjoyed the Caesar. After being assured that the fish is fresh daily, I ordered the swordfish and my husband the yellowfin tuna. Mine melted, literally, in my mouth. It was cooked to perfection and accompanied with what tasted to be a balsamic-like sauce (not on the fish, but merely decorating the plate) I will be thinking of this dish for quite awhile. I was too full to even try the tuna, but my husband said it was great. I ordered the key lime flan for later, and scarfed it down about an hour later back at the hotel. BTW- we had this wonderful dining experience in shorts and Tiger's T-shirts. No pretension here, just great food. The only negative thing I can think to say about Fin is that there isn't one back in Michigan. Top notch!!!!!

Amazing. Some of the best food I have had. Was not expecting it to be as good as it was. Amazing scallop dish. Staff was extremely friendly. Can't wait to go back!

I went to Fin Bistro with a friend for dinner. I ordered the sea scallops and my friend ordered the swordfish. We were both absolutely delighted by our entrees. The flavors of our dishes were delicious and service was very friendly and prompt. I have been coming here for a few years and I'd say this is my new favorite restaurant on the island. If you like fresh and well-prepared seafood, I would recommend this place in a heartbeat.

Loved how sophisticated and fresh each dish was. Some of the best food we had during our stay in Marco.

After reading all the online reviews about this place, I was excited to try it out. We pulled in to town about 7:30 on a Thursday night and we weren't sure what to expect--having never been to Marco Island before. Still wearing our casual "Keys attire" and flip flops, we were a little nervous that we would be under dressed when we saw the signage and overall appearance of this restaurant. We decided to give it a whirl anyway. We were greeted in the courtyard by the hostess who proceeded to ask if we had a reservation. The restaurant was obviously busy, but when we replied "no reservation", she simply smiled and asked if we would need just the table for 2. We were promptly seated and in just a few short minutes encountered our waiter, Frank. Now Frank, we quickly decided, was the bomb!! He walked us through the different selections of fish, made recommendations on the appetizers, salads and desserts. When we told him we wanted to split everything--so we could try several different things, he didn't skip a beat and quickly made suggestions about what we should try. He even requsted the kitchen split everything for us, so all our dishes came out beautifully presented, but divided between 2 plates. We ended up with the roasted beet salad (delish), and grilled black grouper with gnocchi and artichokes. We were going to split the key lime flan, as well. However, Frank made such a convincing presentation about the bread pudding, that we ended up ordering them both. Boy oh boy are we glad we did!! I don't really like bread pudding at all, but Fin's bread pudding was unlike anything I have ever tried. Seriously, do yourself a favor and eat at this restaurant--and make sure you save room for the dessert!!!!

Some of the best dishes ever! These guys used to be part owner owners of one the best fresh seafood restaurants in St. Louis and when they left it went down hill. The sea scallops are the best I have ever had and I'm always disappointed when I order them any other place. My wife had the yellow fin tuna and it just melted in your mouth. Even my 14 year-old who only eats junk loved the chicken and the pork chop, yes our first experience was so great we had to come back a second time in our short 5 day trip. I see many reviews about the owners short shorts and while yes she had on shorts they where what I would expect to see in a beach resort town. We will be back on our next visit soon.

This was the second time we have eaten at Fin Bistro. Absolutely wonderful! It is a bit noisy but with 6 at our table it was manageable. The herb encrusted Snapper was cooked perfectly over the best risotto I have ever had. Everyone thought their meals were A+. A wide selection of wines available by the glass. The warm goat cheese bruschetta is a must have appetizer. We ordered 2 for the table. 3 fish dishes, scallops, a fillet and a veggie entree. Every one enjoyed. We were too full to try desert. Maybe next time. Prices are moderate, service was very good and friendly. Perhaps our favorite fine dining on the island ! Reservations a must.

A charming little restaurant with a very intimate ambiance. Tuna and yellowtail appetizers were excellent. The best scallop I've ever had, but the risotto just above average, and my wife's flounder a bit overcooked. For the desert, the apple croissant pudding is a must. A vast selection of reasonably priced wine. An excellent service, and the chef visited each table to say hello. We would definitely return to this memorable spot when we return to Marco Island.

This is a fantastic fresh seafood restaurant! The beet salad is worth dreaming about! Small venue so call ahead!

Great little restaurant, best we found on Marco Island! Quaint little place, the food is amazing. You must try scallops, they are so good, the sauce is out of this world. He service is exceptional, the owner greeted us, and her husband is a genius in the kitchen! I wish we found it earlier in our trip we would have come every night for dinner. I recommend making a reservation as it only seats about 45 people. The bread pudding was the best I have ever had!!!! It's a must try.

  • Jessica M.

Absolutely amazing! Crab cakes, red snapper, baked goat cheese and the bread pudding were the BEST I've ever had on this island! Wow!

We love this place and try to get here whenever we get to the island. My wife and I were here last week and had Grouper and Snapper. We ate a bit later as the room quieted down and began to empty. By that point the owner had time to stop at tables and say hello. Oh yeah the comment about reservations is a good idea especially if you want a reservation at a specific time

Absolutely Fantastic Food, incredible pricing on Wine by the Bottle. Fin Bistro is now a Staple when we're in Town!!! Thank You Dean and Mike for the Fantastic Service!!!

We have eaten at many good restaurants on Marco Island and Naples. Few warrant 5 stars and Fin Bistro is hands down one of them. Amazing salad, fish and dessert. Top that with wonderful service. I had the grouper with gnocchi...simply amazing. My spouse had the coconut shrimp. They were also amazing. Will be back next time we are here.

Had the best dining experience here sitting at the bar. The food was excellent, the waitstaff was excellent. Would go back as often as possible!

Discovered this place last year and visited twice during a convention last week. Between the two parties last week, we tried just about all the fish dishes. Everything was wonderfully prepared. Yellowtail crudo appetizer was ambrosial! Wine list was great and well priced. Desserts great too- cobbler, key lime flan, and chocolate warm, molten can't remember what they called it yum. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to the pickiest of friends!

  • Juniper N.

Amazing chef surrounded by very inexperienced waitstaff. Our waiter was clearly on some kind of performance enhancing substance because it seemed to be his mission in life to get us in an out of there in record time. They took our menus before we could order entrees, put the entrees down before the appetizers were cleared, and left halfway through our dessert order. When asked politely to slow down a bit they got defensive and then clearly just ignored us when it was time for the bill. The chef should consider what impression these people are leaving on his hard & talented efforts.

Not exactly sure what all the hype is about. They get 5 stars for service, knowledge and reservations. The food, while the descriptions were very enticing and original, just somehow didn't do it for us. It's not like our meals were bad...they weren't. They just didn't have the WOW factor. We ordered the bisque soup and calamari as our appetizers. Both were under seasoned. The calamari was probably the most tender I have ever had but the broth and additional components really were nothing stellar. We also ordered the swordfish dish and the black grouper. Both fish were cooked to perfection. But again the other components were lacking, The gnocchi was super heavy and tasted like uncooked dough and I had one artichoke in the dish. The swordfish also was cooked perfectly. Needed more leeks (they were awesome). Also, we didn't realize that they only serve wine and beer (not their fault). We typically spend 2-3 hours at dinner and we were home in an hour. Maybe they want to turn tables quickly but I believe when you are going out to a nice dinner part of the experience is embracing that atmosphere and the food and not be rushed. We will probably try it again next year when we are back in Marco. Some fine tuning and I think this place can rock! PS the owners stop by your table which is a nice touch and I did compare gnocchi recipes with the chef. The only thing I didn't ask him was what type of potatoes he's uses. Again, food and taste are personal preference. Try it you may like it.

Really good meal. Ate the first week of July. Place was packed, so I ate at an outside table, even though it was pretty hot. Owner and wait staff couldn't be happier to serve me there. Started with the Yellowtail Avocado Crudo - fabulous. Then the Key West Swordfish - again fabulous. Finished with the Bread Pudding. Should I use the same word a third time? Glass of sauvignon blanc to wash it all down. Waiter checked on me frequently and was really interested in how I liked everything. This place is worth what it takes to get in. I'll be back.

Some of the best Scallops I have eaten anywhere, and the most unique and flavorful warm Calamari salad I have ever had. Both were a perfect 10! The ambiance is casual and very quaint, the service was excellent, and I am certain when the season returns this Fall 2013, it will be very hard to get a table in this place without a long wait once the word gets out how great this little gem is! Truly one of the best meals I have ever enjoyed on Marco Island over the past 10 years I have been coming down to visit my parents. Fantastic Chef and a wonderful wife who doubles as hostess - highly recommended! Cannot wait to return!

One of our favorites on Marco! We've eaten here several times, and cannot get past the grouper with gnocchi! My husband had the ahi appetizer, which was fabulous. Great salads as well.

  • Pam C.

Each time I have been to Fin Bistro, the food is amazing! In Marco, the variety and quality of food can be less than great, however, this is actually one place that I would say should be on everyones radar. The only thing I would say I would change, is that the hostess/owner needs to upgrade her wardrobe to coincide with the ambiance and quality of the food. Every time I have been there, she is in shorts and a t-shirt. That's fine for lunch time, but at the dinner hour--a little better attire would be more appropriate.

This place rocks... Great good, great service... Take your time and enjoy... Husband / wife team do an awesome job while raising 4 young kids... AMAZING!!!

Was fabulous! Must go! The setting in half hazard, being there is no hostess stand, and it's very loud. But the food was great!!! Best we've had in Marco!

  • Stephen M.

Decent food. The Grouper was cooked well, but the gnocchi were bland. Swordfish was also good, but unremarkable. Calamari app was extremely chewy. Good Caesar Salad. Sat 30 minutes late with a reservation. Waiter mumbled, and the place is extremely loud inside. Do not see where the great reviews come from.

Excellent food and service. Our waitperson explained the concept to us before we perused the menu. All the seafood is fresh and off the boat the morning it is served. It was one of the best meals we've ever consumed. I had the black bass; my husband snapper with risotto. Fabulous! All desserts are house-made. I had bread pudding topped with vanilla ice cream and rum caramel sauce. I am a dessert snob. This was the best bread pudding I have ever enjoyed. I wanted to lick the plate. This restaurant was a great find. We will return each time we visit Marco.

This place is awesome. Top notch food and service. Sea scallops were cooked perfectly, and I really wanted to drink the rest of the fondue with white truffle oil after I was finished with my meal. Yummy stuff! Pricey though, so be prepared to spend some moolah.

Fin Bistro is the place to eat in Marco Island. We had a very large group (20+) that made reservations on Saturday for Saturday night, and they were more than accommodating. Everyone was happy with their entree selection. It was difficult to choose, because everything sounded so tasty on the menu. Portion sizes were large. And don't walk out of there without ordering the bread pudding. Life's too short to miss out on that dessert!

  • Stephen C.

I had the swordfish and bread pudding and prawns. all very juicy and good. waiter gave great recommendations for wine as well for the chasing venus sauvignon blanc. I can see why this place gets 5 stars.

Fabulous food! We had a very good meal- all three of us were very happy with our selections. The fish entrees are perfectly cooked ( NOT overcooked). The sides are creative- get the asparagus appy for sure. Do not miss it! The chocolate cake dessert is melt in your mouth excellent.

First I want to let everyone to know they serve wine only. No beer or mixed drinks.. With that said this place is outstanding. We went to many of the so called top spots and this place was number one. Service- Dean was very attentive and had all great suggestions. He explained everything very well. Always on top of things but not hovering over so you couldn't enjoy things. We were early and the owner would come up to us and let us know it will only be a few more minutes. This was nice because even though we were early they were doing everything they could to still get us seated. Top Notch. Food- We had the scallops and Kobia. Both were just excellent. We also had the seafood bisque and that was very good too. Desserts of the bread pudding and the key lime pie were very good also. There was not one thing on either of our plates that was not perfect. Our only complaint was that they were not open Sunday or Monday so we could go back...but they pride themselves on fresh so we understand why. We will go back the first time we step foot back on the island. AS FOR THE PRICING WHICH I HAVE READ ON HERE...We ate at other top places and Fin was right there with the other fine dining places. We even spent less at Fins than some of the other places and didn't even have dessert. This is fine dining food so expect to pay the higher prices.

well, after hearing rave reviews about this restaurant, my husband and i decided to try it tonight. i got the dorado, which i've never had before, and it was fresh and cooked to perfection. we did not have reservations, but there was an outside table available. the ambience is definitely not what you would expect from such a pricey restaurant. very uninspired. very. my husband got the new bedford scallops. i tasted them. we are from boston (have lived on marco for five years) and know how fresh seafood should taste, and these had a bit of the iodine about them. our server, john, was excellent, and everyone was pleasant, but it's definitely not worth the high price imho. just really nothing special. there are many many better restaurants on the island. just do a little exploring. you will find a restaurant that has atmosphere, as well as delicious food.

If you like your fish fresh and served a variety of ways, this is the place. The owners are on-site hosting, cooking and making sure everything is perfect. Their attention is noticeable and very much appreciated. The scallops are sweet and buttery. The swordfish was delicate unlike any I have ever had. The crab cake superb. The beet salad was savored. The wine list is small but very well thought out and with some nice surprises. Chasing Venus Sauvignon Blanc is a must. The ambiance is subdued and and very relaxed. Our server Dean was spot on with his knowledge, personality and suggestions. I would go so far as to say he gives you the feeling that this is an establishment for "foodies" without being snobbish. All I can do is rave about our evening and dinner, and hope that there will always be a table waiting for this "Finster" wannabe.

This place is awesome. It is ran so well. The place is spotless the wait staff is second to none. Very nice selection of wine. The Kobe sliders and seared tuna app was so well prepared. For dinner we had black grouper and swordfish. Probably the best seafood dishes I have had my entire week in Marco. We sat at the bar and eat and it. Was really fun to watch the kitchen work you can see all this from the bar. They are one well trained machine. Everything about this place is first class. It does not have a large seating area so if you have a large group I call ahead and. Let them know. Next time I go I will sit at the bar and dine again. Their staff is all friendly and fun to talk with.

Good quality dining experience overall. Service is professional as is the presentation. We had the bruccheta, the crab cake and the seafood chowder. No complaints other than a bit overpriced for the portion size. For our entrees, my folks had the flounder and the grouper, and I had the scallops. Everything was fresh, however, the scallops lacked evidence of flavor. I would have preferred my mom's flounder which was the winning dish at our table. I tried some of the gnocchi that came with the grouper, and it was only so so. I prefer gnocchi that is lighter and a little more slippery. These were too dense and crusty and lacked flavor. No desserts were ordered, but my mom's coffee was fresh brewed to perfection. I ordered the only Tawny Port they offered which was a 10 year. I would have preferred a 20 year, but the generous pour kinda made up for the younger vintage. I suppose I'll be back, but next time, maybe just for apps. Overall Fin is a bit too 'hoytee toytee' for my personal tastes. My brother is coming next week and he'll like the white linens (with no glass) and high-tech wine list (interactive iPad). Worth checking out, but only if you've got disposable income.

I jus had the most delightful dinner. The wine list is lovely, yet vey affordable. The dressing in the market salad was smooth and yummy. We spoke to both owners and they are adorable. They gave us great advise for which antrees paired with each wine. I had the cobia. Fabulous. I am gluten and dairy free. They were so accommodating. One of our friends has a severe shellfish allergy. They cooked her dinner in a clean uncomtamidated pan. Amazing. And for dessert, the dark chocolate truffle cake, it's gluten free and it's served warm, and need I say more?

My family and I had a delicious dinner here last night to celebrate my mom's birthday. We had a 2 year old with us and the owner was very accommodating and helpful. Everyone loved their meals, passing fork-fulls around to share as everyone raved about their meals. We all highly recommend eating here when you are on Marco Island. Best meal we had during our week long vacation.

This Bistro has the most amazing food. The owner was so wonderful! It is a small place,so make reservations. We had tables outside and it had rained, so everyone had to be moved inside, yet even in this fray everyone was smiling and kind.

We've just returned from foodie heaven and its name is Fin Bistro. Marco Island is full of nice restaurants, but Fin Bistro is a great restaurant. My appetizer, grilled asparagus with poached egg and crispy prosciutto on a bed of light cheese sauce was melt in the mouth delicious. The salads, one house and one Caesar with grilled shrimp, were fresh and tasty. The piece de résistance was the Caribbean Spiny Lobster, a rare treat that was served over a squash and cauliflower "risotto" with the cauliflower serving instead of the usual rice. It danced across the taste buds with a thrilling combination of flavors! Triple tail, an unusual menu item, as perfectly cooked as was the fresh Florida Cobia. The flowerless dark chocolate cake was terrific. One member of our party is very knowledgeable when it comes to wine, and his assessment of the wine collection was that it is completely appropriate for the restaurant and very good. This is not a cheap place, but it is a case of you get what you pay for.

Visiting Marco Is for the first time - beautiful!! Asked locals, bartenders and alike for the best fish on the Island. After been given every name but Fin Bistro I went back to the Inn and searched Yelp and found this restaurant. Wow! Sure glad I did!!!! From the moment I called to make reservations it was perfect. Our waiter, John, was informative , and extremely knowledgeable . Our Sequia Grove cab was brought and served immediately on request along with our waters. John recommended the baked goat cheese appetizer which was delicious and served with ripe red juicy chunks of tomatoes and garlic! Need I say more? Oh My!! We shared a Caesar salad which John kindly offered to split for us among two plates. Our salad was perfectly dressed and it no secret now that we had chose the best restaurant on the Island. For diviner I ordered the Cobia which was cooked to perfection, moist and flaky!!! Unbelievable! It was served over perfectly prepared veggies. My daughter ordered the Gulf Snapper dinner which was moist, fresh and over the top!! These guys and gals have it going on ~ for dessert we shared a decadent dark chocolate truffle cake, mmmm, yummy!! I will definitely be back when I am in town ~ I recommend this restaurant highly, be prepared for a fabulous dining experience from start to finish, thank you to Fin Bistro & John!

Food was good - about what I expected but I was hoping to be surprised, based on the other reviews. But the bread pudding was absolutely amazing - too small for the price but amazing. I will be back for the pudding but not for dinner, as verdi's remains my favorite app and entree spot on marco.

It is my 59th birthday and I have my choice of any restaurant within a reasonable radius of Marco Island...I think of many that I have been to but am searching for something new and different..after all, it is only 59...I can stay out past 9pm! I go to yelp and start reading reviews and find Fin Bistro..a quick mapquest and I find out it is a four minute walk from my condo...with age doesn't always come wisdom. The reviews are so great I call and make a reservation...now where to begin..ok...drinks...the wine list is great..hubby doesn't drink so I order a glass of spanish red..delicious...Good beginning. Now the waiter describes the menu and picks up on my accent and explains that knowing we are from Boston and know seafood we are in for a treat. He was correct. From the delicious bread with the wonderful dipping oil with a chili something to the wonderful laid back casual atmosphere we are having a good time..apps...hubby gets a seafood chowder that is out of this world...then a beet salad with gorgonzola , walnuts and hearts of palm..I have an out of this world Bruschetta with creamy goat cheese encrusted in walnuts...OMG..so good! Next the entrees..grouper with gnocchi and prosciutto and I had the snapper that was out of this world...it came with shrimp risotto...creamy and delicious..All of the food came with ease of service and the utmost in efficency with just the right touch of friendliness...I wish I had known I would do this review as I would've taken notes. We were going to try the bread pudding which got rave reviews but the staff brought over a chocolate to die for dessert for my birthday. Delicious!! It's ok though cause we will be back to try more. The chef Brian stopped by to see how things were going as well as his wife, the hostess, who's name I didn't catch. So do yourself a favor and don't wait for a special occasion to visit...but don't go so often that I can no longer make a reservtion :) Judy from Boston...

This place fills up pretty quickly. The food is good. Just good. It's missing something don't know what. I had the scallops (they were tasty) but hey they have truffle oil and truffle oil makes my food taste good too. My husband had the grouper but he says it lacked something. I mean for a small island such as Marco island this place is a great option. The food is fresh, the service is outstanding but the food well just good. The bread and the oil they bring out to dip it in is ADDICTING. Come with a reservation because there may be quite a wait unless you come in right at 5:30.

Food was great the Florida Black Grouper deserves Five Stars. The Goat cheese bruschetta was of the best I've ever had. And the vanilla Ice cream very refreshing (ordered this to compliment a cake we brought for a birthday). Really the only reason it gets 4 stars instead of five was the seafood chowder. To be honest it wasn't bad but tastes a bit old... And did not have very much seafood. I would definitely go back. Had a great time and ambience was fantastic ( servers were quick too)...

Came across this little bistro on yelp. I was surprised to find such good food in Marco Island. The food is fresh, the bread is amazing, they have a good range of wines and the service is A+. Reason to give 4 instead of 5 stars was that the food lacked depth of taste. A few of the items lacked the taste I would expect at this price point. I had the grouper fish with risotto and my wife had the sea scallops. Their "truffle infused" sauce was amazing but barely had any truffle. That's the essence of why this otherwise amazing place gets 4 stars. There was just a hint of flavor were there should've been more.

Amazing food, shrimp and scallops were cooked to perfection, all that accompanied these dished were well seasoned. Best eatery I have tried in the area to date. The service, presentation and atmosphere are all quite nice and comfortable. I can't wait to return and try some of the other dishes. Dean was a great server. It is not a quiet place as it fills up quickly even off season on a Thursday evening. Nice wine list which you choose using an iPad. I would suggest making a reservation.

  • Guy V.

We loved the atmosphere. Noisy but an in crowd- different from what we've seen on the island. We had the grilled scallops and the blackened grouper. Both were exquisite. The grouper came with gnocchi, which were seasoned and delicious. The sea scallops literally melted in your mouth and came with a very light mashed potatoes that were die for . The choice of wines was superb and most interestingly, you choose them by an iPad that matches the food with the wine. Very clever All in all, great food, great service by Dean and really nice ambience.

One of best places on the island. It's chef owned and he was trained at the culinary institute in Hyde Park. This is the real deal. There are no portion controlled Sysco crap on this menu. If you like real food done right Finn Bistro is the place.

Went to Fin Bistro tonight and found it to be the same delicious food as I remembered from 3years ago when they first opened. Thanks Fin Bistro and Jaylo for the great evening! Ray & Jamie Ps, we'll be back again this week before we go home!

I wasn't planning on writing a Yelp review on this trip to Marco Island, but I felt compelled after our visit to Fin Bistro. We were there during the week between Christmas and New Year and every restaurant was packed. Since it was just us (no kids-yea!) we decided to ignore the voice mail recording that stated the restaurant was fully booked and we would just hang out at the bar and wait for a table for two to open up. We were rewarded for our patience. If you are a lover of wines, you will enjoy the selection at Fin Bistro. Fully expansive including a wide variety of wines by the glass, you will appreciate the iPad wine list. Our bartender gave us multiple tastes until we found one we liked. Before we finished our first glass, a table opened up in the adjacent room and we sat down for our meal. Fin Bistro is a perfect blend of casual and elegant. The waitstaff were knowledgable and helpful. Our waiter, Derrick, recommended the Pan Roasted Gulf Shrimp bruschetta that was sublime. The sauce was so good we used the bread basket to sop up what was remaining. My wife, looking beautiful with her Florida tan, and I split the carpaccio and arugula salad before we ordered the entrees. I got the Herb Crusted Gulf Snapper over Rock Shrimp risotto. It was awesome! She got the Grilled Jumbo Scallops and I was lucky to get a taste and they were excellent. Overall, this is a reasonably priced excellent seafood restaurant that is not to miss in Marco.

An Amazing find in Marco! The best seafood meal I have ever had in the 10 years I've been coming here. Don't let the strip mall setting fool you the food is top notch.

The yellowtail crudo with radish, avocado and Meyer lemon drizzle was OUT of this world. If I had to rate bread, it was a 5 with the olive oil drizzled with Harissa chili!!! The black grouper entree sitting on the most delicious bed of gnocchi with a white prosciutto artichoke sauce!! We could not have more than one dessert so we chose the key lime flan: five five five. I am very impressed because Houston has terrific restaurants!!

I had somewhat of a mixed experience at this restaurant: 1. Their sautéed calamari appetizer was not as I had expected. It was watery and somewhat bland with a piece of soggy bread in the middle. It was more a soup than sautéed calamari. If I were to base my review on that I would give it one star. 2. The main course of three tailed dish was cooked perfectly and was very fresh. Unfortunately the taste of the mashed potatoes and the stale macadamia nuts did not compliment the dish at all. 3. For dessert I had their key lime flan. It was the most delicious flan I have ever had and certainly one of the best dessert. That dessert deserves more than 5 stars. The service was ok and nothing spectacular.

Absolutely fantastic meal and service, eaten throughout Marco. One of the very best! Crab cakes were excellent, very little filler if any. All fresh food was served - important when it comes to seafood. Definitely worth trying.

Three tapas. Tuna. Calimari. Goat cheese brusetta. This place was hopping and we got a table outside in the comfortable evening air. We were very pleased with the food the drinks and the service.

This was yet another a great experience. We have the crabcakes, seafood chowder, and the avocado Crudo. All were amazing, however, the seafood chowder was superb. I have the scallops with the white truffle beurre. WOW!!!!!! If you like scallops, this is definitely the plate you need to have. My wife had the coconut tempura shrimp. She loved it so much that she did not leave and let me try it. She only let me watch her eat it. I do not blame her because I did the same thing to her with my scallops. So, we are even. To conclude, we had the bread pudding. It had a caramel glaze and a scoop of ice cream on top. It was absolutely delicious. All the servers are very nice and pleasant. Our compliments to the chef.

Update to my last post where we were surprised that at the time when we thought our meals were being served, we were told that they were out of soft shell crabs... We sent friends there this weekend... And EXACTLY the same thing happened! Really? They wait until you have eaten your appetizer and your salad before they bring you back a dinner menu to re-order? When you order, ask them if they really have it, or you should at least have a back up option ready!

We just returned from a week-long Marco Island vacation and had dinner at Fin Bistro. The main thing we've been wondering since is "how can this be the top rated restaurant on Yelp on Marco?". Sure it was good ... but not great. The service was really good, but the food was simply average save for the tasty bread pudding. There are enough local options for seafood that we would try out before returning.

Great experience from beginning to end, even though I arrived in the midst of a rain storm and tripped and banged the heck out of my shin before stepping foot in the door ( located in a nondescript strip mall next to Nene's lunch place. Due to the rain, the outside tables were not an option so the wait for a table took a while. This is an authentic bistro so it is small inside, with an intimate bar overlooking the busy kitchen. Let's cut to the chase... Look and feel is laid back yet refined. Most diners were dressed casually but you could come here for a special little romantic something and feel ... something special. The menu changes based on what is fresh and available. All of our dishes were lovely to look at and deliciously prepared -- and served by the most attentive server. We ordered two of the evening's seafood specials for our mains. So yummy. The Appetizer we shared was also a special item and it was awesome. Sorry, I don't recall the specifics. Trust me, it was all top notch. Everyone here is on their game and great at what they do. Great food, ambience and service... Best place on the island. Running theme: Special.

My family and I have been here twice and both times were absolutely excellent! To start, the service is outstanding and the waiters are very knowledgeable about the menu. The grouper was a crowd favorite as well as the spiny lobster. The apple croissant bread pudding is TO DIE FOR. A must for everyone! Overall, I have been very pleased with every visit. We will come back!

My expectations were pretty high after seeing all the reviews , and it was very good, but a couple of missed things arose Apparently they have a new area that was added to the restaurant and is only connected via the outside, this invites service issues that will need to be worked out I was set back a it by having the entire menu/specials/ as well as dessert recited to me prior to even being offered a beverage I'm there to relax Overall very nice, I will return and try it again, and see if it can get that 5th star on Yelp......... All aspects of this restaurant just need a nudge of fine tuning IMO

I am not sure what restaurant Stephen was in but this place is it. "loudness" to some is people enjoying themselves to me. This place is not overly loud, not a single waiter or busser mumbled anything , they all were polite and very informative. From the minute we walked up to the door, a male waiter said we could wait here and asked us our name and told us he'd let them know we were here. We sat outside on a bench, looked at the beautiful outside settings and observed people enjoying themselves eating, drinking and engaged in conversation. A woman came out and said that she knows we're here and pleasantly said it will be just a minute. A minute later she came back and sat us. Derek was our waiter. He explained everything on the menu and asked us to look it over and if we had any questions he'd be happy to answer. From sliders to the most amazing pork chop to the swordfish, tempura shrimp we were in heaven. Fantastic beet salad, Caesar Salad and a side dish of the cauliflower squash risotto. Dear Lord! All fantastic and such a hit we booked for two nights later and can't wait to return! Don't miss this on Marco.

We went to Fin last year and couldn't wait to come back this year. Made a reservation, hot there a little early and were seated immediately. Same waiter we had last year - man with shoulder length dark hair - very helpful and made good recommendations. We had the goat cheese bruschetta appetizer - so delicious - tomatoes were perfectly ripened. Seafood chowder was delicious and full of seafood. For dinners we had the snapper and the dorado - each had its own distinct flavors and sides which paired wonderfully. Kids 11 & 13 had the steak and scallops and loved them. Great job and see you next year!

My phone reservation experience was great.. I believe it was Kathy (one of the owners) who assured me they offer a selection of gluten free appetizers, entrees and desserts. We got there and my waiter was knowledgeable but if he didn't know he would ask the Chef/Owner Brian. I can't lie at first my appetizer did come out with breadcrumbs but they rushed it away and apologized. They made a brand new delicious appetizer (poached egg over asparagus topped with prosciutto). It was unbelievable! My entree was the lobster tail and risotto. If it was acceptable to lick the plate I would've! The best part of the meal was dessert. They had a flourless chocolate molten cake with ice cream. It isn't often that restaurants offer gluten free desserts. Let's say it was hands down the best gluten free dessert I have ever eaten. If they weren't closed this evening I would've have taken one to go. Both Kathy and Brian paid us a visit at our table which shows how much they love their business. I was very impressed and would recommend this to locals or those like us whom are here for vacation!

Heed My Warning!!! Ok...maybe its because we're from the east coast and have high expectations for a coastal restaurant (especially one on Marco) yelp reviews were completely wrong!!!! From Appetizers to tiny deli atmosphere to just gross entrees its a SKIP IT the saving grace was the wait staff, all awesome... They should get a job at better places! Total disappointment! Don't waste your time or money! There are to many good places to spend your money!

Fin Bistro and Sale e Pepe are the two great restaurants on Marco Island. Hands down. Fin's cuisine is remarkably sophisticated, and its iPad based wine list is brilliantly thought out. It will find wine pairings for the dish you are thinking of having, and will even email the tasting notes to you. Try the spiny lobster, the carpaccio, the local red snapper, or the cobia. All the fish is fresh and beautifully cooked and the hosts are congenial. Why brave 41 for the hustle and bustle of Naples?

Amazing!!!! Been going to Marco Island for 28 years, This is by far the best formal nice gourmet place, on Marco, you will find, believe me I've tried them all. Had the crab cake appetizer, it was great, this chef likes his sauces, and he certainly knows what do with them!!! For dinner I had the scallops also accompanied by a white sauce, pretty much the best accompaniment of fresh scallops I've had anywhere. Give it try you will not be disappointed. Most entrees are 24-30, I would have paid more it was that good.

Crazy set up. Two different locations within a few feet of each other. If you are in location number two your food is cooked in location one, travels from there to second location actually going outdoors and then delivered into door number two. Sounds crazy but is true. The two entrance doors are constantly opening and closing which is so annoying. They have a young boy, maybe 13 years old, running around with your food. I couldn't believe it. two glasses of wine, two seafood soups and main courses for around $100. Definitely not worth it and no idea what the fine dining experience should be.

Ate here with a group of 6, we all had different entrees and everyone loved everything they ordered. We had the bruschetta and the calamari for appetizers and they were both really good. For something different I'd recommend the calamari, it isn't breaded and is really tender. I had the grilled scallops, which were amazing. Also, for dessert the bread pudding is unique and delicious, it's made with croissants and has apples in it instead of raisins. Definitely the best restaurant we've eaten at during our stay on Marco Island.

A favorite seafood restaurant in Marco Island. Went here last year and made sure we had reservations when we knew we were coming back. They expanded and doubled their space since last year. Well worth the trip. We had a few apps for the table. Calamari was amazing. Sliders were so so good. I had the tile fish with succotash for my main and it was one of the best fish dishes I ever had. The other 7 in our party all loved their meals too. Don't think there is a bad thing on the menu. We had the bread pudding for dessert and it was equally delicious. We look forward to next time we eat here.

Yum! We started with the pan roasted prawns and fought over the bread on the table to sop up every bit of the broth! My wife and I each had the snapper and the fish was excellent and the rock shrimp risotto was special in that the shrimp and squash were not mashed to nothingness and added flavor to the risotto. My sons had the scallops and a filet mignon. The pickiest eater in the land was accommodated by our waiter to ensure his steak was free of "grill marks" and was not touching any other food on his plate. They brought out a desert for his birthday, the whole meal was fantastic! Then desert came out for us and the then yummy jumped up to a whole another level the bread pudding was crazy good and the key lime flans was super good!!

From beginning to end, Fin Bistro exceeded our expectations! The rolls were warm and fresh out of the oven, served with the chef's delicious olive oil blend. For appetizers we ordered the warm goat cheese bruschetta and the pan-seared jumbo prawns- both excellent. We dipped the fresh rolls in the broth from the prawns. The beet salad is also a must, if you like beets. The beets are yellow beets and double-roasted, served warm. For entrees, our group tried the coconut prawns, swordfish and snapper. All entrees were excellent, but we unanimously voted the coconut prawns the best of the three entrees. We ordered a side of the cauliflower risotto which was amazing- another must. We ended our meal with the famous white chocolate croissant bread pudding and it did not disappoint. We liked it so much that we ordered a second after taking the first bite. Our waiter, Derek, was phenomenal and was really talented in describing the menu. He made everything sound as good as it tasted. This restaurant more than deserves the #1 rating on TripAdvisor and it should be 5 stars on Yelp!

Ok atmosphere, great food. The floor plan is somewhat odd with two distinct dining rooms and an outside patio in between. Great service. The fried shrimp and the almond flounder were both fantastic.

Excellent service. Excellent food. Scallops were beautiful. Dorado was perfect. The bread pudding dessert was to die for. The decor was plain and looked and felt a little like a diner. The owners were fantastic and explained the menu to us. Fish is all fresh and the ingredients used are all fresh. The sauce on all dishes including appetizers were excellent soaked up in bread. An excellent way to spend a friends birthday. There were 6 of us. I will definitely go back.

My boyfriend and I went on Friday, after he saw the wonderful reviews. I must say that the service from the moment we called for reservations to our departure was all about customer service. He started with the seafood chowder, while I had the crabcake. Appetizers were average (reason for the 4/5 stars instead of 5/5). The main dishes, however, were fantastic. He had the grouper with the gnocchi, which was great. I had the coconut shrimp, which was phenomenal; If I would have left any, I would have contemplated taking leftovers for the first time. Unfortunately, we did not save enough room for dessert though. However, all the dessert dishes that we saw go by looked fantastic. We will definitely go back on our next trip to Marco Island, FL!

Excellent food and FRESH seafood. Family owned restaurant. It will get busy so make a reservation. We started with the baked goat cheese and yellowfin tuna crudo. It lasted less than 5 mins in our table with out group of 5. Very very good. All of us ordered different plates, from the lobster, black flordia grouper to the almond crusted flounder... the tastiest was the lobster. The cauliflower/sweet potato risotto was delicious. Our table ordered the berry cobbler, bread pudding and chocolate truffle cake... my favorite one was the bread pudding. I will definitely stop by next time Im in Marco Island...

One of our favorites for fresh seafood! We came here last year and just had to come back when we visited this time. It did not disappoint us at all. We just didn't make reservations for Saturday night but now we know better! We ended up sitting at the bar and that was still great! Frank was our waiter and he had really good recommendations for appetizers and entrees. We had the grilled sea scallops and grouper and they were both amazing dishes done perfectly! Can't wait to come back!

Don't judge the book by its cover. The restaurant is in a small strip mall setting. Nothing fancy about the look of the place. At first I was hesitant to go inside but was greeted by the warm smile of the hostess. She found us a table quickly. Our server was very attentive. The wine list was on an iPad which was pretty cool. Onward to our dinner. The food was excellent. My hubby had the tuna and I had the shrimp linguine. Had the bread pudding and key lime flan. The coffee was piping hot the way I like it.

This restaurant is in a strip mall with no atmosphere at all. They have the nerve to charge Manhattan prices for mediocre food. Small portions. No vegetables or sides included in meals. Over $250 spent for dinner. The grouper fell apart and was in chunks; they served it to me anyway. We had to ask for bread at the table. Don't try to speak to the owners regarding your experience, they are too busy with only one person answering phones for reservations. No apologies or offers to come back and try the restaurant again after being hung up on by "accident". For some crazy reason this place got great reviews and for the life of me I cannot understand why. There are so many other better restaurants. Save yourself some money and skip this place. We ordered one appetizer which was expensive & tasteless. Dinner averaged out to over $83 per person.

The service was great! The staff extremely helpful and generous. The calamari can be passed up on but everything else we tried was a success. The carpaccio salad was the best I have had and the grouper over gnochi was delicious. If in marco, give this place a shot!

I called ahead to see if they were kid friendly as we have a 7 month old. Yelp said not Kid friendly but the owner picked up and she assured me they were. The staff was wonderful and knowledgable. Food was fresh and tasty--we had the yellow tail crudo, Cesar salad, shrimp and linguine, dorado with cauliflower goat cheese mash, and their signature apple white chocolate croissant bread pudding!! All were wonderful!! It's nice to find a place on vacation where u can be a foodie and have a kid! Thanks Kathy and staff!!!

If you want the best cuisine in Marco Island, this is the place. Newly married, my wife and I (from Tampa) wanted a destination wedding in Marco Island. We took a few trips to find the right location (Marriott) and also sample all the islands best restaurants to find our perfect rehearsal dinner location. After going to Fin Bistro, then 4 other places, we went back to Fin Bistro just to make sure - we had our final decision. We couldn't have been happier. Kathy and her staff at Fin Bistro were absolutely amazing. They provided us their new private room (first floor) for our entire party. This was such an intimate and wonderful area to host our party. They decorated the entire room with beautiful center pieces and floral arrangements everywhere. The staff was everywhere making sure each and every guest was waited on every step of the way. The food was spectacular, which we knew already, but the guests did not. Every single person loved their meals and we've been complimented on our choice ever since. I cannot say thank you enough for providing us the perfect rehearsal dinner on the most important weekend our of lives. Thank you Kathy and Fin Bistro!

Just finished an excellent meal at fin bistro! I was fortunate to order the trigger fish which is leaving the menu because the fish is hard to come by. Too bad because it was simply wonderful. The black grouper was a bit dry but our server took it back and when he brought out the fish again it was moist and full of flavor. The scallops were also superbly prepared. We started the meal with the best sautéed calamari and beef sliders and ended with warm rich chocolate cake topped with vanilla ice cream and a very berry brandy cobbler also served with ice cream. The meal came with a bread basket and oil with red pepper purée.

While visiting Marco Island found this gem on another traveller website. Must make reservations!!! Service was top notch. Food was incredible. Great selection of wines (even though I don't know anything about wines, but the had it on an iPad so it must've been extensive). SUPER close to all your main resort hotels on the beach. Definitely a must go!!

We recently went to Marco Island for six days over Christmas week. We did some yelping before we went and found that Fin Bistro was rated #1 in the Marco area. We made a reservation and were glad that we planned ahead. They were very busy; turning away most parties that didn't have reservations. So, dinner was fantastic. The wine list is on an IPad. We found a great, moderately priced sauvingon blanc from New Zealand. I started with the seared rare tuna app. My husband had fish chowder. I order seared tuna often, and this rendition was excellent. The tuna was served wrapped in a sushi-like roll around greens and cucumbers, and topped with spicy peppers. For dinner, my husband had the Key West Dorodo and I had the Crisp Herb Crusted Gulf snapper. Both were amazing. The portions were filling but not overwhelmingly large. Our service was excellent and attentive. Our waiter, who reminded me of Greg Kinnear, was professional and friendly. The owner dropped by to check in on us. Our water glasses were constantly refilled by polite busboys. This was a delicious, memorable meal in Marco. I'd recommend it to anyone who appreciates excellently prepared fish.

Fin Bistro receives a very well deserved 5 stars from me. Thanks to all the great reviews from the other yelpers regarding this restaurant, which was the main reason we (my lovely girlfriend, actually) chose this place. My parents & sisters live up the road on 951 from Marco and we were in town the week of 3/10 to 3/16, 2014 to visit. My girlfriend chose Fin Bistro as our final vacation meal, we went with a group of 7. We booked a reservation over a week in advance, and seeing as how we were in town during the peak tourist season during one of the crappiest winters we've had in a while, reservation openings were very limited (we got a table for 7 people at 8:00pm on a Saturday night). You should definitely make reservations well in advance during the winter months. We waited about 10 minutes after 8:00pm before we were seated, but we were greeted appropriately and courteously. The inside of the restaurant is small and quaint, the small size is what probably leads other reviewers to complain about the noisiness, but again, like other reviewers, the "bustle-y" noise doesn't bother me at all, in fact I find it lively and rather charming. The sound of other people enjoying themselves shouldn't ever fall harshly on your ears, unless you're a miser of some sort. Once we were seated, we were given the wine-pairing IPad and our server (who's name was Jesse maybe), came right over and said if we needed any assistance pairing wine and food or if we had any questions, that he'd be happy to help. He gave us some background on the Chef/Owner, and some tidbits about the restaurant, what they're all about, etc. One item of note, was that they plan they're food orders based on how many diners they expect each day (meaning they don't carry seafood over from one day to the next) and an important reason why they request everyone make a reservation. We ordered several appetizers to share at the table, the warm goat cheese bruscetta, the calamari, and possibly one other. The calamari was phenomenal, I disagree with another poster who stated that it was "chewy." The consistency reminded me more of a soft pasta than something rubbery or chewy. Very fresh, and very well balanced with the olives and tomatoes served along side it. For dinner I chose the Florida Black Grouper with gnocchi, artichoke fricassee, lump crab and prosciutto. I have a very sensitive palate when it comes to sea food & fish, for whatever reason I can generally taste some level of "fishiness" when many others cannot. I can say that this was the freshest tasting, softest, most wonderfully buttery piece of grouper that I have ever consumed. The gnocchi was a delicately light accompaniment to the grouper, and on par with some of the best I've ever had as well. Others in the group ate the Florida Keys Dorado, Cider Brined Pork, the Herb Crusted Snapper, and a shrimp dish of some sort. The service we received during our dinner was magnificent, the server really took the time to educate himself (and then us) about the restaurant, the chef, and the food and ingredients that the restaurant served. I don't think anyone had to pour their own glass of wine at any point, and I would say that before anyone in our group ever had to ask for anything, it was already addressed by one of the staff working that night. I would recommend Fin Bistro to anyone I know, and especially to people, who like me, have a hard time finding places that serve seafood that they like.

I lived in Marco for 4 for years and have been coming here for over 20 and to date, Fin bistro is the best meal I have had on the island. I came here with the parents on a random Monday and was first pleased with the comfortable, elegant and contemporary interior. Second, I appreciated the concise menu. There's nothing worse than having to look through 75 entrees! The hardest part was deciding what to order as most of the menu sounded delicious; extremely well thought out. This is not your typical fish-with-cole-slaw Marco island menu. First came out the bread with a great olive oil dipping sauce entrenched with a chili sauce which tasted great. Almost tasted like a Siracha aoli. Though the bread was a little dry, I would have preferred a sourdough roll. For appetizers we had the goat cheese bruschetta, jumbo lump crab cake and asparagus with a poached egg and crispy prosciutto. My blanket statement is that they were all extremely flavorful! Each dish succeeded in a great balance of flavor with extremely fresh ingredients. The crispy prosciutto was outstanding, the tomatoes in the bruschetta could have been an app on its own and the crab just about melted in your mouth. Entrees were the scallops and swordfish. (apps filled up mom) The scallops were HUGE. Very flavorful, well seasoned and came with an amazing sauce on the side that I cannot remember the ingredients to. The swordfish was very fresh and came with a nice bacon wrapped potato side. We split a side of the rock shrimp and squash risotto which was again, quite nicely executed. Fiiiinaly for dessert I had the berry cobbler. Unlike most cobblers, this one wasn't bogged down with a heavy pastry crust. Moreover, it had little pieces of crust in the cobbler mixture which allowed for a more balanced dish. We were told before we ordered that all of the desserts are made fresh in house. Even though I had no room, based on the rest of the meal I had to try it out. And I'm glad I did. The service overall was very good. You could see the servers and the owners taking pride in their work. My only criticism of the meal was we wished the staff would have dressed more the part for an upscale bistro experience. Rather than the T-shirt and shorts look..... I can understand this is Marco, I guess it's just the San Francisco in me. My advice, for a great meal that is actually worth it on Marco, go try Fin Bistro!

I had the swordfish and bread pudding and prawns. all very juicy and good. waiter gave great recommendations for wine as well for the chasing venus sauvignon blanc. I can see why this place gets 5 stars.
